Zero Waste Samba Square | CCPGOA

Close to 10000 people attended the 4 day event from 18th February 2023 to 21 February 2023. Approximately 1700 Kgs of segregated waste was generated and collected.

It was made into a zero litter through targeted IEC, awareness generation, social media messaging, maps of bins, the well-placed bins stations, onstage announcements and volunteers’ intervention.

The bins stations had 3-way segregation in place for Dry (cups, tissue, cardboard, glass, metal cans), Wet (organic food), Bagasse Cutlery (Separate processing).

Each food stall also were given wet and dry waste bins, along with awareness support on proper waste disposal.
